J&K PSC call 392 candidates for Medical Examination

Jammu, February 10 (Scoop News) –   The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission vide its Notification NO. PSE/Exam/11/25 today called 392 candidates of Combined Competitive Examination 2009 for undergoing Medical Examination by the Standing Medical Boards of Government Medical Colleges, Jammu & Kashmir.

It may be called that the Commission had advertised 398 posts to be filled under Combined Competitive Examination in December, 2008. The Preliminary Examination was conducted in May 2009 in which 33440 candidates had participated. 11033 candidates qualified for Mains Examination which commenced from 15.03.2010 in which 10472 candidates appeared out of which only 6961 appeared in all the papers. On the basis of the rules 1235 candidates were summoned for interviews which were held at Srinagar and Jammy from 21st October till 17the January, 2011. During and after the interview process writ petitions were filled by some candidates who could not find place in the list of candidates summoned for interview.

While dismissing the petitions filed against the Commission on Wednesday. The High Court observed that the contentions of all petitioners were misconceived. F.A. Natnoo, Advocate, Standing Counsel of the Commission who prepared the objections in all petitions filed against the Commission assisted D.C. Raina, Senior Standing Counsel of the Commission in the matter before the Hon’ble High Court in the pleadings on behalf of the Commission.

Accordingly, after dismissal of the writ petitions, Commission has called 392 candidates for Medical Examination after which the select list in accordance with the rules shall be notified. Against six reserved vacancies, Commission shall take appropriate action in due course of time.
