Addressing the tiny scouts and guides of various educational institutions at the “Human Rights Day” celebration function organized by J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Association, the Minister lso asked the youth to extend their help to the needy as and when required which in turn result in creating a lasting bonding between the people. He reminded youth about their duties towards the society and said that they have to work to eschew the tendencies of hatred and intolerance which are not in consonance with the high traditions of Indian ethos
As many as, 150 Scouts and Guides from 15 Educational Institutions participated in the celebration.
On the occasion, the association also observed its foundation cum Flag Day which aimed at collecting donation for the welfare of families of Martyrs.
The Minister said that Scouts and guides inculcate in students a sense of discipline and duties towards the society. “The students have the ability and vibrancy to give new colours to the social, political and economic profile of the society so must be nurtured in a right perspective,” he maintained.
The Minister said that all human beings are endowed with reason and conscious and should help in promoting communal harmony and brotherhood. He said that such universally acknowledged movements can do wonders in educating the society about their rights and responsibilities.
Elaborating on the significance and perspectives of Human Rights in human lives, the Minister exhorted upon the students to help the needy people whose rights are being violated. He asked the Scouts and Guides authorities to develop patriotism and respect for human values in the students so that they can contribute their services towards the cause of the society.
Chib also lauded the efforts of J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides in extending yeomen services to the society and assured complete support from the government in this noble cause. He said such agencies need to be encouraged and promoted to bring out the society from the web of poverty and ignorance.
On the occasion, Scouts and Guides from different schools presented cultural bonanza based on national integration and patriotism.
Among others State Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides, I. D. Soni, Joint State Commissioner, Shreshtha Khajuria, (Rtd.) Wing Commander Zonal Commissioner, M. M. Joshi, Zonal Commissioner Ratish Kapoor, State Training Commissioner, S. Sahaj Singh, State Headquarter Commissioner Dr. Gurcharan Singh were present on the occasion.
