Srinagar, September 27 (Scoop News) -Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir, Legislative Assembly Mohammad Akbar Lone has called for highlighting public centric issues in the forthcoming Assembly session in the best traditions of democratic set up.
Describing media an important tool for dissemination of Government policies and securing public feedback thereof, Lone appreciated the media for playing their role during tough times.
This was stated by the Speaker while chairing the Press Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting, here today.
The meeting was convened to discuss certain issues related to the ensuing session of the J&K Legislative Assembly commencing on September 30. The Speaker said that full support would be provided to media persons covering assembly proceedings. Representatives of different media organizations raised some issues regarding conveyance, seating arrangements, etc. and sought their redressal.
Regarding issuance of passes, Lone directed the concerned to prepare special passes for the media persons so that they could perform their duties without any difficulty. These passes, he said must be handed over to the genuine Journalists and cameramen in advance. It was decided that press conferences, if any, would be organised in the meeting hall of Legislature Complex.
Director, Doordarshan Rafiq Masoodi, Secretary Legislative Assembly, M. Ramzan, Director Information Khawja Farooq Renzu and representatives of various media participated in the meeting.
