Jammu, March 29 (Scoop News) — Speaker, Mohammad Akbar Lone, today issued directions to the Government to involve concerned Members of Legislative Assembly in developmental activities and implementation of District Development Board Meeting’s decisions in respective Constituencies.
Intervening during the reply by Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, on the supplimentaries on question by Er Abdul Rasheed, in Legislative Assembly, during Question Hour, here, the Speaker also asked the Government to stop execution of new works, if any, for which funds were released at the tail end of the financial year .
The Speaker issued this directions following a point raised by Harhsdev Singh, while raising supplimentaries on the main question.
Earlier, the Minister informed the House that the decisions taken in various District Development Board meetings, with regard to developmental activities, are being seriously examined for early implementation. He said that keeping in view the developmental needs of the districts, the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, this year, decided to increase the district allocations by 15 percent. He said apart from this the Chief Minister, during review meetings of various DDBs, granted additionalties to meet the expenses on the works of urgent public importance.
The Minister also assured the House that the demand raised by the MLA for construction of Community and Environment Halls in Langate Constituency would be seriously considered for early redressal.
