Srinagar, June 02 (Scoop News) – Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Wednesday reposed confidence in younger generation for being capable of transforming State’s socio-economic scenario.
Inaugurating Northern Regional Round Table Conference of Deans and Directors of Association of Indian Management School (AIMS) on “Total Quality Management in Business Education-AN Emerging Paradigm” at University of Kashmir Campus here, Omar said that a constant linkage between the educational institutions of the country and the State is imperative to provide a befitting platform for youth to grow and exhibit their capacity and power of delivering.
“You are second to non in excellence and capabilities”, he told the students at Kashmir University (KU)”, asking them to take advantage of right opportunities and exposures and prove their mettle.
“In fact linkage between civil society of the country and the people of Jammu and Kashmir is necessitated in the present scenario”, he said adding that people from outside the State have developed a mindset of visiting here either for State being most beautiful or not visiting here for the place being dangerous one. Abdullah said that he has great love for educational institutions and his endeavour is to strengthened and upgrade the universities and help create greater opportunities for youth to seek higher education. “My love for
Abdullah said that he has flagged capacity building and employability important aspects of policy planning adding that stress has been laid on the development of skills. “We have more than 5 lakh registered unemployed educated youth in the State. My endeavour is to engage about one lakh of them in government sector during next five years. I have to work for creating jobs for rest of 4 lakh persons in the private sector and measures are already afoot in this direction”, he said.
The Chief Minister said that the Business School of Kashmir University is emerging as one of the best institutions of the country and its association with AIMS will help its further upgradation. “I hope the boys and girls coming out of the Institution will make new dent in popularizing the concept of launch of independent economic ventures among the educated youth”, he added.
