After a leave of absence to care for his new baby and wife, Joe Scarborough has returned to host his MSNBC program Morning Joe.
Joe Scarborough left the show for several weeks after the premature birth of his new baby with wife Susan Waren. There were complications from the early birth birth but Joe Scarborough said the baby’s health was stable. Speaking of his baby, Scarborough said, "we’re going through some medical issues, but everything seems to have levelled out now."
Sentiment from Joe Scarborough’s fans poured out from his fans on his MySpace page, praising him for taking time off–and asking him to return and host again. A MySpace fan called Kelly said "the show is not the same without you," and Trish said "you have gone up a few notches for me by staying home with your family during this time."
On the program today, Joe Scarborough thanked everyone for their "thoughts and prayers."
Prior to Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough served as a Republican Congressman for Florida from 1994-2001. After shock jock Don Imus was fired from MSNBC, Joe Scarborough replaced him in the 6am-9am slot.
Joe Scarborough has been married to Susan Waren since 2001 and they already have one daughter, Kate. They are also raising his two sons from a previous marriage, one with juvenile diabetes and one with Asperger’s syndroms.
