Jammu, August 01 (Scoop News)-Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) today expressed anguish and grief over the loss of life of a poor Amarnath Yatri as a result of government utter failure to provide security to the yatris performing Amarnath Yatra.
The President,JPPF Th. Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj while addressing Media persons demanded ex-gratia relief, of not less than 5 lacs to the next of the kins of the deceasecd and Government service to one of survivours as he was the only bread earner of the poor family who earned his livings by selling vegetables on Rehri. There is no other member to earn bread for his wife and 3 young kids. Public protests forced the Government to sanction Rs 5 lacs compensation and Govt service to one of his kin of the deceased.
He also demanded immediate registration of F.I.R. against the stone pelters who killed a poor Amarnath Yatri.
Th. Pavittar while speaking further asked the State Government to stop discriminating Jammu any further. He was citing the example of additionality of Rs. 35 crores granted to Srinagar city whereas it was Jammu District which deserved additionality on the basis of population, Area and so many other projects in hand starving completion for want of funds to make it an independent destination for tourists especially in view of Rail Link to Katra being made operational any time now. He lauded the role of Jammu Congress Ministers who advocated additionalities before the Chief Minister for Jammu instead Srinagar based on the facts and data.
The President while pointing out at disparities and discrimination meted out to Jammu by the Kashmir Centric Coalition Government in all spheres including allocation of funds for development, unemployment problem, neglecting water bodies of Jammu by discriminating funds flow in crores to valley and mere nominal meager amount to Jammu water bodies and so many other factors Jammuites feel alienated and voice of Jammu once consolidated can take any shape demanding Talengana way of separate Jammu State.
