Kathua/Jammu, September 21 (Scoop News)- Director Tourism, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma and Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Jitendra K Singh today welcomed a group of 20 cyclists who are on expedition to Jammu and Kashmir, here at Lakahnpur Kathua.
The group of cyclists is on an expedition from Kanyakumari to Kashmir with the message of National Integration, Communal Harmony and Peace, besides promotion of use of bicycles to explore the tourism spots in an environmental friendly way.
The cyclists are from different states of India and during this 2nd phase; they started their journey from Delhi on September 16 and reached today at Lakhanpur. From here they would paddle on to Srinagar in next 3 days.
Director Tourism Jammu and DDC Kathua, while welcoming the group, assured every possible cooperation to the visitors and hoped that their expedition would be successful with respect to their aims.
They hailed the group of cyclists for taking up the expedition to spread the message of brotherhood, peace, communal harmony and eco friendly tourism in every nook and corner of the country.
DC Excise Mushtaq Ahmed, DC Sales Tax Pankaj Magotra, CEO Lakahnpur-Sarthal Development Authority, Dr Bharat Bhushan and officers of Tourism Department were also present.
