Governor pays rich tributes to
Moharram procession taken out in Kashmir valley
Jammu/Srinagar, December 27 (Vijay Kumar) -Jammu & KashmirChief Minister Omar Abdullah has paid rich tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions who laid their lives in the desert of Karbala in Iraq some 1400 years early to uphold and safeguard the high values of Islam, humanism and righteousness.
In his message on Ashura Muharram, Omar said that
Abdullah said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (SAW) and the son of Hazrat Ali (AS) and his companions exhibited highest degree of courage, determination and faith in Allah. They sacrificed their lives in an exemplary manner and protected the true principles of Islam, human dignity and truth. “They laid their lives but did not bow before the falsehood”, he added.
The Chief Minister quoted the verses of Khawaja Moin-ud-Din Chesti (RA) “Shah Ast Hussain, Badshah Ast Hussain. Deen Ast Hussain, Deen Panah Ast Hussain. Sar Daad, Na Daad Dast, Dar Dasti Yazeed. Haqa Ki Bina-i La Illah Ast Hussain” (Hussain is the King, He is the king of kings. Hussain is the religion. He is the protector of religion. Hussain gave his head, but did not lend his hand to falsehood of Yazeed. Indeed Hussain safeguarded the righteousness).

Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Mohammad Rafi conducted an extensive tour of various areas of Budgam district today. The areas include Narbal, Magam, Chiur, Mirgund, Budgam and Bemina.
The Minister assessed the arrangements made by the District Administration is connection with the Ashoora e Muharram. The deputationists of these areas who met the Minister during his visit expressed satisfaction over the Muharram arrangements which include uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, availability of firewood, ration, improvement of link roads etc.
The Minister on reaching Budgam convened an officers meeting to take stock of the Muharram arrangements. Mir enjoined upon the officers to ensure all possible facilities including ration for full month of Muharram.
The Deputy Commissioner informed the Minister that 6000 litres additional Kerosene oil has also been kept available and desired consumers can obtain it after getting permit from concerned Tehsildars.
Earlier, the Minister also visited Imam Bara Budgam to take stock of the arrangements for 10th Muharram.
The Minister accompanied by Minister for Animal Husbandry & IT, Aga Syed Rohullah and Deputy Commissioner Budgam joined the Ashoora procession from Budgam to ImamBara.`
