"Kartik is being given a raw deal. He was brought into the team (in the ODI series against Australia in Oct 2007 after one and half years of ouster), won a man of the match award (in Mumbai) and then got ignored (after three more games against Pakistan). If he is performing well for Middlesex, Railways and the Kolkata Knight Riders, he certainly deserves to play for India." said Sunil Joshi.
”Play somebody ahead of Kartik only if that spinner is better in terms of performance and talent,” he said
”We follow Australia in everything, but when it comes to age we don’t do so. The average age of the Australian team is more than 30. As long as a cricketer is fit and performing he is good enough to play,” he says.
”Dhoni was new to the captaincy when Kartik was ignored. The Dhoni of now is willing to back a youngster. I never had this sort of backing.”
”Your strength can become your weakness also,” said Joshi
