Leh, July 22 (Scoop News)- BJP senior leaders from Ladakh including National Executive Member Thumpstan Chhewang, District President Cheering Dorje and Distt. General Secretary Lobzang Nyantal, Acting President BJP Leh, have expressed grave concern over the prevailing tense situation after police firing on peaceful demonstration in Zanskar on July 20.
They have strongly condemned the uncalled and brutal lathi charge by Police on the peaceful demonstrators. They said that the government should order an impartial enquiry into the police action leading into firing. They said that it is also a case of violation of Human Rights. They said that the forced entry of police men in residential houses at odd hours and beating up of innocent persons besides causing damage to religious objects.
The BJP leaders said that there is massive resentment among the population Zanskar and the government should not watch the situation as mute spectator and instead take immediate steps to restore the faith of the people.
The BJP leaders also demanded withdrawal of JKP from Zanaskar and replace them by positing central reserve police force as people there have lost faith in J&K Police.
