A meeting of leading lawyers of High Court & Dist Bar Associations was held here in Hyderabad today. It was jointly presided by Advocate Yousif Leghari Central Member Pakistan Bar Council, Ayaz Latif Palijo Chairman Forum for
Rights Justice & Peace and Fazal Qadir Memon Chairman Executive Committee of Sindh Bar Council.
The meeting decided that the Advocates of Sindh will observe a black week of protest from 9th March and would observe token strikes and peaceful rallies.During he meeting the participants were contacted by Mr Aitzaz Ahsan President Supreme Court Bar Association from Sukkur who said that the lawyers community would continue their unparalleled struggle till the
restoration of judiciary and removal of Pervez Musharaf.
More than 55 renowned participants of this meeting of advocates showed their
concern over a group of opportunist local lawyers and condemned their illegal and selfish policies of getting benefits form the Govt. Advocate Muhammad Yousif Leghari, Ayaz Latif Palijo, Zahoor Baloch, Fazal Qadir Memon, Haroon u Rasheed, Nisar Durani, Faqeer Rahmatullah Hisbani and others demanded that the transparency and fairness be observed in upcoming
elections of Dist Bar Hyderabad and the rules prescribed by Sindh Bar Council and Pakistan Bar Council be strictly followed. They said the lawyers community has brought their livelihood and career at stake for the restoration of independent judiciary and in these last movements they would not allow the mafia who signed MAAFI NAMAS / Good conduct bonds during the
emergency, to destroy the entire struggle of brave lawyers of Pakistan. They demanded the immediate release of their greta Chief Justice Mr. Iftkhar Muhammad Chodhri and other Judges of Supreme Court and the instant restoration of all the Supreme Court and High Court Judges.
