Bryant made 22 points and was credited with eight assists on a final score of 132-106. The Laker’s victory is their sixth in a row.
In the first quarter, Bryant scored 13 points with a 6-for-6 field goal percentage.
The Lakers registered insurmountable lead in early quarters and effectively carried on to the end quarter. The suns led by Kobe’s former team mate Shaquille O’Neal tried to stage a rally in the late quarter but was not able to catch up. O’Neal finished with 12 points with seven rebounds.
Leading the Lakers in the scoring department was Lamar Odom who made 23 points with nine rebounds to his credit. Most of the Laker’s players contributed to the winning score.
Phoenix Suns’ Leandro Barbosa made 18 points and seven assists. Reliable Phoenix Sun’s guard Steve Nash and top scorer Amare Stoudermire failed to help their team because of prior injuries.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns are two of the most stable teams in the NBA but the league is reportedly set to borrow at least $175 million for the teams that need financial support to cushion the impact of the current financial and economic downturn, according to Inquirer net.
It was not immediately known if these two major NBA teams would avail of the financial package that is being put together by the league.
