*Walk Away From a Heavy Drinker:
Falling in love with an alcoholic can be the biggest mistake a person will ever make in their life. Marriage to an alcoholic is tasking and riddled with misery, humiliation, fear, embarrassment, insecurity, frightening, unreliability, constant monitoring, and it is heart rendering for all family members.
A spouse married to an alcoholic may have, if they’re lucky, one good day a month, and in many cases, none. It’s a sad situation for any person to live in because they never know the personality changes of their drinking spouse. Some spouses have had to sleep in their cars at night or go to a relative’s home because of an abusive drinking spouse.
*Alcoholics Cause Others Misery:
They cannot depend on their spouse to properly support them or to take care of them. They become complete cripples in a matter of time and they cannot be relied upon for a thing. Their marriage is one of “no” family life, no unity, confusion, no security, no love, no dependability and certainly “no” romantic nights toward their end.
There are some people that marry a person who they knew drank too much but they felt their love was strong enough to hold their marriage firm and would keep them free from the bottle. People you’re kidding yourself because it’ll only be a matter of time until the spark of love dims and you end up losing your mate back to alcohol. After going through sleepless nights and one humiliating episode after another, you’ll find your love is tarnished like a brass vase sitting on a shelf for years and there’s “no” respect for them; and whenever you look at them it is one of total disgust, sheer aggravation, and a desire for freedom.
*Alcoholics Go On Binges:
When an alcoholic is on one of their binges, they’ll stay in a drunken stupor for weeks at a time, and bring total embarrassment to their spouse and their children. They could care less about their spouse and children when they’re under the influence of alcohol, and they slowly lose their morals and self-respect for everyone at this time. Children should be forbidden to remain around them during this time frame. The alcoholic only has one thing on their mind and that’s their next drink and they’ll do anything possible to obtain it. After they begin to dry-out they’ll go through the shakes and may go through hallucinations of seeing animals and snakes crawling on them.
*A Spouse/Person Cannot Believe An Alcoholic:
Alcoholics are noted for their false promises saying, “If they can only have one more drink, they’ll quit and never take another drink”…don’t be drawn in by their game promises because the spouse will get big disappointments. An alcoholic whispers words that are spoken without any meaning or truth to them.
Seeing an alcoholic in a convulsive state can be a horrible experience and it will be something the person will never forget. It’s scary and it brings a fear they’re going to actually watch them die right before their eyes.
A person may start out as a “Happy Hour” drinker and end up dependent upon alcohol to get through a day. If you believe you’re fitting into this group, get help for your drinking habit before you find you’re addicted.
*Summation:
Alcoholism is a terrible sickness and it robs a person of their life and also their family’s dignity and pride. Any person drinking too much should seek a professionals help before it get out of control. Alcoholism is a sickness just like any other disease. It’s a craving for an alcoholic drink at any cost. Children should “never” be brought up in this type of an atmosphere because it will leave scars that never heal. Seek help there is help out there.
