Marie Jarry, a Southington second-grade teacher, has sued the Southington school district for wrongful termination following her bikini-clad appearance on the "Howard Stern Show."
Marie Jarry appeared on the "Howard Stern Show" for a feature called "Ugliest Guy, Hottest Wife" and claimed the $5,000 first prize. School records show that Jarry called in sick the day the show was aired.
A few days after the show was aired, lawyers from the Connecticut Education Association approached Jarry and said she should resign because she broke the teachers’ morality code in her contract. They also warned her that she could lose her teaching license and be arrested for defrauding the school district.
Marie Jarry’s lawsuit with the Southington school district says that she was forced to resign under duress and intimidation tactics. The state of Connecticut has a code of professional responsibility that does not allow lying and reminds teachers that their actions reflect on the entire profession.
