Srinagar, October 02, (Scoop News)- On Gandhi Jyanti, a sanitation drive has been launched from the Directorate of Rural Sanitation to achieve the swachh Bharat Status by 2nd October, 2029 coinciding with the 150th Birth Anniversary of Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi, who was himself a symbol of cleanliness.
Director Rural Sanitation, Saleem Mohammad, while launching the sanitation campaign with his staff members under banner “Mission Swachh Bharat” emphasized the needed for creating environs which are free from pollution of any sort. He also asked the officers of the department to ensure that the drive is speeded up in the different parts of the state.
The drive which has commenced from 25th September, 2024 to 23rd October 2024 i.e. Diwali Festival. Director Rural Sanitation administered the Swachhta Shapath himself and to his staff and Afterwards cleanliness drive was started from the office in which Director Rural Sanitation along with Dy. Director Rural Sanitation Kashmir holding the brooms with his staff and started the sanitation drive in the old secretariat complex. Also the banners conveying the message have been erected on different places for the awareness of general public for conveying the sanitation message.
