TUESDAY QUICK HITS
PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES @ ST.LOUIS CARDINALS
Roy Oswalt came off the 15 day disabled list and started for the Phillies. His task was to stop their three game losing streak the last team in the majors with that distinction. Once again one of the ‘Aces’ did his part but the bats for the Phillies were silent. Roy went five innings and gave up one run on seven hits. Not bad for his first game back.
Phillies in the ninth for a 2-1 loss. Baez is now 1-2 this season.
The Phillies could come up with only five hits and one run in support of Oswalt and the Phillies relievers. In their last four games, all losses, the Phillies have scored seven runs on seventeen hits, weak to say the least.
Jaime Garcia pitched a great game for the Cardinals going eight innings giving up one unearned run on five hits, walking one and striking out five. Fernando Salas took over in the ninth inning and gets the win. Salas goes to 2-0 this year.
The St. Louis Cardinals improve to 24-19 and the Phillies with their fourth loss in a row are now 25-16.
