MoS Home, DGP assure investigation in Rafiabad firing incident

Srinagar, February 11 (Scoop News) –On the instructions of Chief Minister,  Omar Abdullah, Minister of State for Home,  Nasir Aslam Wani alongwith Director General of Police,  Kuldeep Khoda, IGP Kashmir Mr S M Sahai and Deputy Commissioner Baramulla,  Bashir Ahmad Bhat today visited Rafiabad and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family of the victim killed yesterday in a firing incident.

            While expressing solidarity with the family members of the victim, the Minister said that no stone shall be left unturned to verify the facts by making proper investigation into the incident for which FIR has been lodged.

            Meanwhile, GOC, 15 Corps, Lt. General Atta Hasnain also visited the area and expressed deep regrets and apologies for the loss of precious innocent human life describing the firing incident an accident and unfortunate. He also assured Inquiry by Army into the incident. 

            The government also ordered magisterial enquiry into the incident besides investigation into the incident. SDM Sopore has been directed to complete the enquiry within one month.

            The corps commander assured full help and assistance to the bereaved family.

 

 

 

 

 Meanwhile PDP condemns the killing of innocent youth in Rafiabad

 

Describing it very unfortunate, the killing of Ashiq Hussain a youth from Laiser Rafiabad, PDP president Ms Mehbooba Mufti has said that such tragic incidents not only shatter the faith of people in democratic system but also create a sense of insecurity among them.kind

Expressing sympathies with the family of Ashiq Hussain, Mehbooba said that ordering of inquiries in such unfortunate incidents seems to have become a routine affair without yielding any result for the victims or their families. Countless inquiries have been ordered till date Altaf of Boniyar being the latest one being followed by todays inquiry into Ashaq Hussain’s death. But till date not a single person held responsible has been punished be it Alochi Bagh Killing, Zahid Farooq, Wamiq Farooq or Anantnag killings.

She said lodging an FIR or ordering an inquiry has become an escape route for the present govt to take the heat of the moment so that things calm down, she said .
