Jammu, December 18 (Scoop News) – J&K Kashyap Bhandu Committee (JKKBC) members today in a meeting resolved to institute an annual Award of Motherhood for those Kashmiri Pandit mothers who have more than two children.

On the occasion various problems of the community came under discussion especially the decreasing population. The declining population of KP’s is a matter of great concern. The community is facing the problem because of migration, inhospitable climatic conditions, acute nostaligia, uncertain future and above all excess use of family planning methods. A general call was given to the community to adopt two child norm.
The members resolved to institute an annual Award of Motherhood for those mothers who have more than two children. The Award will consist of a “Certificate of Honour” and substantial cash amount. This resolution was passed unanimously in view of alarming decrease in population of the Kashmiri Pandits. The members felt greatly concerened when a UNO Report was presented before the members which show Kashmiri Pandit Community one of the vanishing coummunites of the world.
