Anantnag (Kashmir) , April 26 – If Mufti Mohammed Sayeed was sincere, why he remained silent about demilitarisation, revocation of AFSPA, Pak currency and the so-called formula of Self-rule when he was Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, said former Minister for Social Welfare and Senior Congress leader Abdul Gani Vakil.
He said this while addressing a political convention in Wazir Bagh in Anantnag. Mr.Vakil said that during his tenure as Chief Minister, he requested Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh to send more troops to
PDP has preferred politicising even the issues of humanitarian concern where they were expected to support the present Congress-National Conference coalition, said Mr. Vakil. A party which betrayed the trust of its coalition partner for petty political gains is expected to cry hoarse over the perfect harmony between the two coalition partners, said Mr.Vakil while adding that present coalition has blessings of AICC President Smt.Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and would complete its term effectively.
He urged the party workers to further strengthen the coalition. Mr.Vakil said that there is a tacit understanding between PDP and BJP with regard to upcoming Lok Sabha elections to defeat secular forces working to bridge the regional divide created by these two parties and rebuild the shattered state economy.

He maintained that their talent lies in hatching conspiracies, fabricating lies, circulating false promises and building castles in the air, that too at the cost of precious human lives. In continuation to their habit of circulating lies, the same individuals have been giving feelers that Congress-NC coalition has no agenda and it would crumble as and when they would wish so.
He stated that a virtually frustrated PDP leadership is making knee deep efforts to frame some kind of alliance for returning to power. “They have got exposed after shaking hands with BJP, in the recently held elections for the legislative council seats,” added the congress leader.
Referring to PDP’s much hyped healing touch policy; Mr. Vakil said that the party had promised disbanding of Special Operation Group, compensation to the Kith and Kins of the militants, one job per family and above all, talks with separatists.
But after assuming power, it was Congress led UPA’s apt seriousness which restored order in the state and not PDP’s achievement. But it has been claiming the same which gives an insight into its lust for power, said Mr. Vakil.
