Srinagar, May 21 (Scoop News) –Flagging un-employment crisis as most crucial concern, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday said that his government is addressing the issue through a multi pronged strategy adding that government employment alone cannot be the solution to it.
“No country or the state is in a position to provide government jobs to every educated youth”, he said maintaining that he does not want to lie on this count and deceive youth like others who exploited them by making false promises and misleading them through sinful tricks. He said youth of the state are aware of the fate of the promise made to them by some people (PDP) regarding providing two employments to each family.
“I am not of the grain who would lie to you for vested interests and face the wrath of Almighty,” Omar said adding that his government is actively focussing on addressing un-employment problem through various measures besides providing government jobs to educated youth. “Despite all odds and heavy financial constraints, my government provided government jobs to over 30000 youth during last three years besides absorbing thousands in police department”, he added.

The Chief Minister said that SKEWPY and other initiatives to help youth to earn their livelihood are also in place to address the un-employment problem. He said the sanctioning of 18 more Polytechnic Colleges in the state to provide trainings to youth in different modern skills is an effective step forward under the skill development mission of the government.
Omar said that generation of economic activities depend on peaceful conditions. “You have witnessed the economic growth and holistic development during the last year due to peace and tranquillity that prevailed in the state. This has had tremendous impact on the revival of tourism which constitutes motor nerve of the state’s economic welfare”, he said and asked the people to render full support to the government in maintaining peaceful situation in the state.
“Development speaks loud and clear on ground but only those witness it who keep their eyes open and do not possess biased mindset”. Omar said and presented a resume of achievements registered by the coalition government during last three years all across the state. He said hundreds of schemes completed and scores of major projects under implementation in the state itself speak of the government’s determination to make the progress rule the roost. He said that his government would continue its endeavour for restoration of permanent peace in the state and achieve the goal of progress and prosperity.
The Chief Minister said that his government would work to realize the dream of bringing Charar-i-Sharief on international pilgrim tourism map dreamt by late Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah adding that opening of new tourist circuits and encouraging adventure, sports, pilgrim and conventional tourism are priorities in the state’s development policies.
On development of Charar-i-Sharief constituency, Omar said that during the last two years Rs. 28 crores have been spent here on the development of road sector alone while Rs. 12.6 crore are being spent on this sector during the current year. He said 40 kms of roads have been macadamized and 120 kms constructed while 4 new bridges are being constructed at a cost of Rs. 25 crores.
The Chief Minister said that two hospitals at a cost of Rs. 26 crore and two primary health centres involving Rs. 4 crores are under execution in the constituency. He said Rs. 8.90 crore have been spent on health sector in this area during the last year.
Omar said that 60 new primary schools have been opened in the constituency while 60 primary schools have been upgraded to middle level and 290 ReT teachers appointed besides constructing 21 primary school buildings during last year. “Those who wear black goggles only see darkness”, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Finance and the MLA of the area, Abdul Rahim Rather rejected the propaganda regarding the coalition government and said that those who spread rumours about it live in false paradise. “They should bear it in mind that the coalition government under the leadership of Omar Abdullah is strong and functioning in tandem to move forward on the road to progress and holistic development on firm footing. We are enjoying full support of the centre leadership to accomplish the task of achieving peace and prosperity for the state”, he maintained.
Rather said that certain elements are bent upon disturbing peace and tranquillity of the state to fish in the troubled waters. He cautioned the people about the designs of such elements and referred the progress and economic growth achieved by the state due to peaceful conditions during the last year.
He assured the youth that their prosperity is the endeavour of government led by Omar Abdullah. Terming them future of the state, he said the government is keen to seek their bright future.
In his speech the Minister for Technical Education, R. S. Chib highlighted the policy planning of the government in the field of skill development and employability enhancement of youth. He said opening of new polytechnics with modern trades would give imputes to the strategy of enabling educated youth to get jobs or launch their independent livelihood earning ventures.

Nagam Polytechnic is one among the 18 Polytechnic Colleges sanctioned by the government to be established in various places in the state to pave the way for the skill upgradation of youth of the state.
On reaching Nagam, Omar Abdullah was accorded rousing reception by enthusiastic crowd of local people shouting slogans in his and in favour of his government.
