Proddatur (GR-TYP-BIN): Municipal Commissioner Mr. Pramod Kumar said that they are stepping up measures on war-footing basis to control mosquitoes and check on their breeding sources. He examined four power sprayers by connecting to 20lit capacity containers on October 3, and said that sanitation staff would use these containers to spray the chemicals (larvacides) in the identified mosquito-breeding areas.
Besides these four power sprayers, our sanitation staff has already been in action with eight manual sprayers and the continuing fogging operations, said the Commissioner. He urged people to ensure that the residential places are free of stagnated water to control the spread of dengue virus in particular. Departmental action will be initiated against the responsible in case of failure of proper sanitation as the Dasara celebrations at hand, warned the Commissioner.
The Commissioner also emphasized that they are prioritizing the digging works in the problematic areas. As part of enforcing precautionary measures, we will ensure that cleanliness is well maintained in the town in the wake of Dasara celebrations, he added.
