My Last Visions a short film directed by Varun Mehta under his production banner ‘Wiz Motion Studio’ is now ready for release. The short film which deals with the issue of ‘child safety’ and ‘child trafficking’ shall see its online release on 11th of July officially on YouTube. The film shall be simultaneously released on Vimeo on the same day.
Talking about the step Varun told exclusively to GroundReport : ‘YouTube’ has always meant to be a perfect broadcast platform for all the indie filmmakers. It’s one of the popular sites and I don’t think there is any other better medium to release your film with. And with YouTube’s monetization features, it’s now even better to release your movies for revenue advantages.
Talking about the benefits of YouTube Monetization, Mehta said – “It’s way healthy especially for Independent filmmakers who are looking for an audience. With YouTube Monetization, you can not only find an audience but also generate revenue from it. The only challenge a filmmaker faces putting up his short on YT, is getting the original music which sometimes the site does not support. But with its Audio library, that problem is nearly solved.
Talking about the film, he said – “My Last Visions is a short film that takes place in a green park. Parks where we usually take a walk, jog, chat and enjoy. But this green park can see everyone. It has visions to receive and it feels very close to a little girl that plays there often. An Incident happens in the park which stays in the last visions of the Park. The short deals with the issue of ‘Child Trafficking’.
My Last Visions has been nominated to be screened at PSA Film Festival in Chennai in 2014. It also received the honours to be in best top 10 films in last year’s Indi.com Short Film Competition. Varun now gears up his next animation film ‘The Hope’ to be followed by another unnamed animated feature to be released soon.
