As the Democratic race goes on, it looks as if co-frontrunner Senator Barack Obama of Illinois is getting much stronger and much solid as it looks as if he will emerge as the Democratic nominee. At the same time, things look grim for co-frontrunner Senator Hillary Clinton of New York as she struggles to keep her candidacy afloat. This recent event could be deemed as insult to injury to Clinton’s campaign.
Now, the Obama campaign has gained a new and possibly very influential member. Linda Douglass has joined the Obama campaign. Next week, Douglass will assume the post as senior strategist and senior spokesman on the Obama campaign’s plane.
Douglass used to be a congressional correspondent with ABC News and then became the contributing editor to the National Journal. She joined the National Journal back in the year 2007. The National Journal covers government and politics. The 2008 US Presidential election is by far no exception. For thirty-three years, Douglass has worked a long career as a TV journalist.
Most of the major policy debates in the US Congress were covered by Douglass. In short, Douglass could be perceived as a strong media powerhouse. It is likely that she will still have strong connections with the National Journal. Perhaps she still may have connections with ABC News.
To the National Journal, Douglass is a first rate journalist. It would look as if the Obama campaign has gained someone valuable in the world of media working with them. In short, Obama has gained someone very valuable. As Obama’s campaign looks to get stronger, Clinton’s campaign seems to be weakening by the day.
