Jammu, February 22 (Scoop News)- Governor, N. N. Vohra, today said that the Government has made a new beginning on political and administrative fronts even as efforts are on to give a boost to the socio-economic profile of the State.
The Governor was addressing the Joint Session of Jammu and Kashmir Legislature here. He said while restoring peace and tranquillity remains the top priority of the Government, a de-centralised development process, where each region has an equitable share along with the strengthening of Panchayati Raj institutions, are necessary to make Jammu & Kashmir a really developed State.
In his 50-minute address, the Governor dwelt on whole lot of issues and spelled out the achievements and priorities of the Government.
Exuding the confidence that the Government would confidently meet the hopes and aspirations of the people of the State, the Governor said” My Government, under the leadership of our young Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, is committed to taking the State rapidly and assuredly forward on the path of peace, prosperity and development.
Later, the copies of the Governor’s Address were tabled in both the Houses of the State Legislature, which met separately. In the Legislative Assembly, the Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone, reported and laid on the table the copy of the Governor’s Address.
