Effecting fuel efficiency and how to make it more economical to drive a vehicle largely depends on the type of car you drive and on what road conditions you take. Because no matter how fuel efficient is your car for as long as the traffic is terrible and the road conditions are worse than expected, then probably fuel consumption would certainly take a heavy toll on the ordinary motorist’s pocket.
But after all these years, there have been attempts to introduce new inventions and technology that are proven to save on gas expenses. In an attempt to lure more consumers to buy refined oil products, they have resorted to changing gears by reducing lead content on the gasoline. The result was the production of Unleaded gasoline in the markets worldwide. Aside from being engine-friendly, this type of gasoline is also environmentally safe to use considering that it has less carbon emissions which are now causing so much uproar among environmentalists because of the amount of air pollution ordinary gas fuels produce thus causing health risks among the people, especially children.
Still, some motorists have found the fuel costs unreasonable. And for those in the developing countries, fuel costs are just unbearable anymore. For those whose income are just enough to make ends meet, owning a vehicle seems to be a remote idea. Aside from regular maintenance costs like insurance, the motorist has to make do with the daily impact of gasoline consumption whose market prices are dictated by big oil companies.
There were successful attempts to undermine these market forces with some inventors coming out with improved gadgets to less fuel consumption in cars. There was even an invention wherein cars can run using ordinary water. While others introduced energy-efficient alternative fuels like bio-fuels but some sectors have expressed pessimism that the projects won’t be commercialized owing to the limited source of raw materials needed to mass produce them.
Again, the matter is still a question of politics. In countries where importation of crude oil is big business, getting in the way seems to be a difficult hurdle to make. Believe it or not, sometimes the deal becomes part of a bilateral agreement where Middle East countries would supply oil in exchange for some finished products that are abundant in the importing country. But there are instances when government officials make under-the-table deal with oil suppliers.
Until now, the jigsaw puzzle goes on. How come new gas-saving gadgets cannot be marketed on a commercial scale even if it was proven and tested for use in the market. And what is painful is that technology officials in government even ignore instead of supporting the mass production of the gadget. As a result, local inventors don’t have any option but to look for foreign buyers who can pay the right amount to buy their inventions.
Sometimes, there is a twist in this market-driven world. Middle East countries solely depend on oil production as their main source of revenues to keep afloat. Simply taken, oil- producing countries would have no choice but to buy the newly invented gas-saving device at any cost.
The reason is not really to use it in the market but to shelve it forever for business interests. You can just imagine how much OPEC would lose if majority of the cars now plying the streets of the world are to use water, instead of gasoline? And some governments in developing countries are just to weak to implement energy-saving measures by using alternative energy sources, which can be a big help in reducing the importation of foreign oil, whose revenues are sometimes used to support sinister plans of disgruntled people.
Nobody seems to be heeding much on this issue. But the real reason behind why only a few of the new gas-saving gadgets, which are estimated to make a windfall for the host economy, make it to the international markets. Technology analysts believed that a secret deal has already been hatched before any marketing effort to launch the new product is launched into the open markets.
