Restaurants of NewYork city remove all artificial trans fats food from their menu.
A new regulation, which comes into force from Tuesday, mentioned that all food served including baked goods, oil and spreads, shortening, margarines and prepared item contain less than 0.5 gram of trans fat per serving.
The first phase came into force in 2007, with a high level of acceptance. It applied to fry oils and spread only.
It will now cover previously excluded items such as baked goods, frozen foods, cannoli and doughnuts.
Candy and crackers, which are packed and sealed, are still exempted.
