The Eagles have advanced to their fifth NFC Championship game in
the last eight years and will travel to Arizona to take on the
Cardinals, who are hosting their first-ever NFC Chrmpionship game.
The Eagles hosted the Cardinals in a Thanksgiving night game earlier
this season, winning 48-20 and sparking their current stretch of
6 wins in the last 7 games. This marks the third playoff matchup
between the Eagles and Cardinals, after the two teams met in the
NFL Championship games in 1947 and 1948, splitting the series 1-1.
The Eagles are playing in their 5th NFC
Championship game under Andy
Reid. Since 1999, only New England
(5) has played in as many Conference
Championships as the Eagles, and no
other NFC team has appeared in more
than 2.

game, losing 28-21 in 1947 and winning 7-0 in 1948
