JAMMU and KASHMIR: Ministry of tourism is on the one hand impressing for land mark tourism in state by organizing Kashmir Tourism Festival and on the other fails to even provide basic facilities to tourist pilgrims in winter capitol. Above this is that other state department does leave no stone unturned in creating problems for those pilgrims who manage any how to reach to various temples. JMC, traffic police and tourism department are the main hurdle creators to defame pilgrimage tourism.

For instance, Peer Kho Cave temple is situated on he banks of Tawi River and is widely believed that Ramayan character Jamvant (the bear god) meditated in this cave. The temple, placed in the midst of acacia forest and igneous rocks, is supposed to be the one of the historic and ancient shrine in the Shivalik region. It is said that this cave is the gateway to some other caves and shrines, which are placed outside India. A large number of devotees visit this cave temple during Shivaratri festival and thousands of pilgrims from across the country visit this temple during their visit in summer vacations along with their families.
But on the arrival of pilgrims heaps of garbage collected by JMC and dumped there welcomes them. Foul smell and polluted atmosphere sent pilgrims to state of shock. “I cannot believe such a beautiful place situated at bank of river and possessing religious importance is being treated in this careless manner” Vijay Kumar Singh of Nepal a pilgrim said.
Health Officer Jammu Municipality, Dr Vinod Sharma while commenting over the issue said that there was problem of smell and other things four years ago but now the dump has been covered and a hygienic both room for men as well as for women has been constructed. He said that within couple of days plantation would be started to cover the area under green carpet besides scenery point adjacent to temple would be made functional for pilgrims and tourists.
Traffic police is hell bent to halt pilgrims and passer for unknown reasons forcing them to suffer under scorching heat. They make public to stop for hours together as if they had been sinners not tourists and pilgrims. Similar is the case with the tourism department as not even a single official had visited to sight to get the feedback of prevailing situation.
