North Korea will soon experience the launch of a new mobile phone service. The service is scheduled to launch on Dec 10 but the name of the opeator is yet to be revealed. The service will first begin in Pyongyang and will further expand to to other parts of the nation. The mobile handsets will cost the people around $700, making too expensive for the people to acquire one. North Korea being a secretive communist state may have the priviledge restricted only to government oficials.
It is also seen, Egypt’s Orascom Telecom, earlier in January this year had won the right to offer the mobile service and was planning to invest $400 million in the project.
