New Delhi (GR-TYP-BIN): Nobel Peace Prize winner and noted Child Rights activist Mr. Kailash Satyarthi called on the Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal at the Delhi Secretariat on April 23.
The issue of child rights and child protection was discussed during the meeting. Mr. Satyarthi raised the issue of regulating the placement agencies of Delhi.
‘We need to regulate the placement agencies. Huge numbers of children are being trafficked and are used by these placement agencies. An order was issued by the court to make a law to regulate this in 2012. We need to work on it and do away with child labour’, the Nobel laureate informed the chief minister.
The Chief Minister assured that the Delhi government would take all the steps needed to regulate these agencies.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Manish Sisodia and Chief Secretary of the Delhi Government Mr. K.K. Sharma were present in the meeting.
