While in Wayne, Pennsylvania, presumed Democratic nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois had taken the opportunity to attack presumed Republican nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona on a range of subjects. In one article I had written, Obama had attacked McCain on appointing Supreme Court Justices. Obama said that McCain might overturn Roe v. Wade.
He gave off the suggestion that McCain would put ultra conservative judges in the seats in the future. But, this was not the only issue that Obama had attacked McCain on. Obama would also attack McCain’s stances on energy and taxes.
Again, Obama stressed that he would cut the taxes for the middle class while raise taxes for the wealthy. The money generated from the taxes would be put into “green energy” Obama had said.
If elected US President, Obama wants to invest $150 billion for the next ten years for a sector that deals with “green energy.” It is supposed to create 5 million new jobs in that sector along with cutting down on carbon emissions.
Obama would be addressing green jobs again. At the same time, he would blast McCain’s tax holiday again. Obama said that McCain’s gas tax holiday would inflict more pain rather than heal it.
In short, Obama said the gas tax holiday would not work. He called McCain’s idea nothing more than a Washington stunt.
Obama explained: “I was for the idea back then, but I’ve learned from my mistake, because I don’t think it’s right to say you’re offering families relief when you’re just boosting oil company profits.”
This is a definite indication that Obama and McCain will also be clashing on energy and gas prices. The McCain campaign should respond soon enough afterwards.
