Obama Receives Endorsement From NARAL Pro-Choice America

An endorsement from NARAL Pro-Choice America has just been given to Democratic co-frontrunner Senator Barack Obama of Illinois. This could count as a possible damaging blow to the struggling campaign of Democratic co-frontrunner Senator Hillary Clinton.

Despite the aftermath of May 6, Clinton’s campaign is struggling. Those in the campaign have acknowledged that there is a $20 million debt. Despite the odds, Clinton has continued to fight on.

On Wednesday, May 14, the abortion rights group has given its endorsement to Obama. This group has been a strong supporter of Clinton. Now, the endorsement has been given to Obama.

“Pro-choice Americans have been fortunate to have two strong pro-choice candidates in Senator Obama and Senator Clinton, both of whom have inspired millions of new voters to participate in this historic presidential race,” said Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America.

To the Clinton campaign, they were taken by surprise. Those in NARAL endorsed Obama said that he is the favorite to win the Democratic nomination. However, Clinton still has the chance of pulling an upset victory.

Recently, the Feminist Movement voting bloc has been split between Clinton and Obama. In that regard, that voting bloc is not exclusive to anybody.

These are indications that things look grim for Clinton’s chances of securing the Democratic nomination. But, she could still score an upset victory. There are still the contests in Michigan and Florida. Both states were stripped of their delegates by holding their primaries too early by violating DNC rules.

Also, it depends on the superdelegates. DNC Chair Howard Dean said that the remaining superdelegates must choose who they will support by the end of June. He also said that a compromise on Florida and Michigan will be reached by May 31.
