The family reunion in TN was terrific. A good time (and PLENTY of food) was had by all. It was so hard for me to see how quickly Granny’s health has declined since April, as a result of emphysema. Now, she is out of breath after using her walker to go from her chair to the restroom. The only time she can leave her chair or be without oxygen is to go to the bathroom. I am a smart lady, and I know emphysema gets worse, but Granny is getting worse faster than I expected. We are richly blessed to have Granny being cared for full time in her house by a wonderful person, M.
On the other hand, my 92 year old grandfather is in terrific physical shape and has maintained his humor and spirit, even though he now has dementia. We went to see him and I was very happy that he knew EXACTLY who I was! We also took him to church where my Uncle is the choir leader and my aunt is the accompanist. He was clapping and said the singing was, "very good." 🙂
It was a wonderful trip, but it was so tough to leave that I cried for a long time. I would appreciate it if you would please continue to keep Granny in your thoughts and prayers.
