Pakistan keeps her heritage of Assassination.
RAWALPINDI- PAKISTAN…——— Ms. Benazir Bhutto,54, the opposition leader and twice-serving prime minister of Pakistan was shot , according to differing sources, in the neck, as she was standing in the open sunroof of a car and waved to crowds Thursday evening. A suicide activist, riding on motorcycle detonated bomb and killed more than twenty persons. Fifty another was wounded. Till to it, nothing is abnormal in the political history of Pakistani. It was said as she left an election rally in Rawalpindi a attacker fired on her and exploded him immediately and created a political turmoil that a blazed Pakistan with widespread violence. She was taken to General Hospital of Rawalpindi where doctors tried their best for 35 minutes to resuscitate her. There Dr. Hayat said,” Ms. Bhutto had bullet wounds to her neck as well as head.” According to Dr. Mohamed Mussadik, the chief of the medical collage of the same hospital and prominent surgeon attended to her at the hospital confirmed that Ms. Benazir died clinically on arrival at hospital. But doctors declared the news just at 06-16 p.m. Benazir, the polarized figure, threw some questions and confusions through out the world is Pakistan safe for opponent leaders and the blind war- aid sent by United States in the name of controlling extremists activities are being used for this purpose or used to make Indian soil bloody?
Ms. Bhutto used to lead the largest political party of Pakistan , ‘ The Pakistan Peoples Party’, undoubtedly threw Pakistan and her politics into disarray less than two week before parliamentary elections scheduled for January ,08 ,just a couple of weeks after a state of emergency was withdrawn. The angry supporters and protesters started violence after having carried her body to her home town, Larkana, in southern Pakistan where she was buried. She was buried but the left question of billion dollars. A high profile political leader who spent near about thirty years navigating violent and turbulent Pakistan and became the first lady prime-minister of a Muslim country was allowed enough security as when she narrowly escaped assassination attempt at the time of returning home two months ago? Her death not only rendered president Musharraf a potent crisis , but also an important massage was sent to him and Bush Administration that is not remained mock now. May be Al-Qaeda involvement caused the valuable death. But where did they have given promise not attack on her? Rather they threatened her to slaughter like a goat. So the challenge to curb the militants jointly either a farce or they have failed to do what they promised. There is another speculation going round that the elections will be postponed and another state of emergency be declared. But Musharraf will not do that. He must make election on that declared day. He is the man may get two fold benefits. The attack was told Al Qaeda- linked militants activity, where as eye-witness heralded other story of sniper firing from a near by building. This bore a hint. Had the Government protected her with well- guarded professionals? Had it not sympathized to the militants? If it so, why? The Federal Bureau- of Investigation and Home Department Security Officials alerted the Government quoting some Islamic Web-site-sent-mail that a major attack might raise on Ms. Bhutto, Sheriff and Imran Khan. So they should be kept well protected by special professionals. Benazir was the choice of Bush Administration. Bush himself arbitrated between Musharraf and Bhutto. Naturally, she was the costly guy of Western –World. Hence, she was expected next prime minister of Pakistan for third time. Now let us move-round our look to deepen suspicion among Bhutto’s supporters of Pakistani securities agencies. They say that I.S.I. and Military Intelligence had been against her and her liberal agenda. The police did not want autopsy. Her party officials told Agence France Press that the speed of removing the body of Bhutto to her home, Sindh, made them suspicious her body was sent before dawn. The lawyers demanded an international neutral investigation. Al- Qaeda claimed the responsibility for assassination. Ayman-Al-Zawahri, the Al Qaeda’s second commanding officer is blamed for setting up the plot. The American Intelligence Agencies have not come to any solid judgment about who is behind the game. Musharraf went on national television on that very day evening, describing the act as a national tragedy and announced a thre-day period of national mourning. He stamped as a terrorist violence and vowed to continue to fight to root out the terrorists. World leaders lined up to express outrage at the killing of Bhutto. The possibility of coming of more violence in Pakistan are feared by most of the educated Pakistanis .Some other think that it may make Musharraf position untenable, as he can not control the on coming pressure Much of the rage over her death is nonetheless likely to be directed at president who kept her out of power for over eight years and shown her only a grudging welcome at first , and later hostility. Another former Prime Minister Mr. Nawaz Sharif announced that he was withdrawing his party out of election. He said that it was a tragedy for not only opponents, but also for the nation. He visited the hospital after having heard the news of her death. It‘s true that P.P.P. will suffer in election for want of strong leadership. Aftab Ahmed Khan, the former interior minister and who was nearly killed last week in a suicide bombing at a mosque in his village. Said that he would expect a more intensified and exacerbated suicide attack on coming days.
Bhutto sent a letter to Musharraf on returning to Pakistan expressing, “Three or more men should be investigated for their soft link with the militants in case she would be assassinated. One of three is Ijaz Shah, the director General of Intellgence Bureau, the one I.S.I. and third is closed to president. This account is disclosed by one aid to Benazir. The accusation was blown out by third saying all that bogus blame was for political. Gain, when the letter was submitted in a meeting.
The second officer was the head of the country’s National Accountability Bureau who investigated Ms. Bhutto’s corruption charge. The last was ex. Official of Punjab Province who had mistreated her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, when he was in jail on corruption charge. In an interview after Bhutto revealed this letter, a closed ally to Musharraf said the people named in the letter were all political enemies of Bhutto. He told they did not have link or sympathy with militants He added next that Government are taking all the measures to protect Benazir. It is clear that protection was too lax and the area of rally was not secured. A high ranking official of Musharraf Administration said on condition of anonymity that Musharraf would find an international blame but get national benefit in election, as the killing would confine another to security given by Government. To realise the international pressure the Administration starts to change comment on Bhutto’s murder. Javed Khan Chima, the head of interior department reported in a press- meeting, Islamabad, on Friday that Bhutto died in sudden accident, not by gun-fire. He showed a video- clipping that proved nothing supporting his excuse. But that brought the cat out of the bag. To whiten the face to the and specially to make disgusted Bush calm Musharraf has let all his tentacles play.
