8th Young Star Cricket Championship concludes.
CHITRAL: The 8th Young Star Cricket Championship ended at Govan Koghuzi grounds some 30 KM from here. Provincial President of Pakistan Peoples Party Sherpao and Member Provincial Assembly, Sikandar Hayat Sherpao was chief guest on the occasion. Some 18 teams participated in the tournament. The final match was contested between Ayubia Sports Club Danin versus Azizan Sports Club Hoon. Ayubia sports club won the task who were first batting by giving the target of 145 Runs on 18 Over. Hence the Ayubia Sports Club team won the match with a lead of 14 runs while Azizan sports club scored only 130 runs and all out. Suhail Ahmad of Ayubia sports club was declared as man of the tournament while Fawad Alam was announced as man of the match. Both of the players belongs to winner team. Chief guest Sikandar Hayat Sherpao Provincial president of PPP (S) awarded winner trophy to M. Tariq captain of winner team and runner up Cup to captain Faiz Ahmad of runner up team.
He also announced of rupees 30000 cash award for both teams and management committee. The tournament was organized by Koghuzi Young Star Sports Club Koh who arranging this tournament once a year at Govan Ground of Koghuzi. Cup and awards were distributed among the best players by former provincial Minister and Provincial General Secretary of PPP (S) Bakht Baidar Khan. During the final match a function was also held where Khwaja Ameenullah Chief Organizer of the club performed as stage secretary. Addressing to the public gathering provincial president Sikandar Hayat Sherpao stressed upon the youth to must participate in non-curriculum activities for their best fitness and healthy physically and mentally. He said that youth should to engage themselves in positive and social activities to save from drug abuse. He assured that a stadium would be constructing here to provide an opportunity to the youth of the area to improve their sports skill. A large number of people were present on the occasion. Besides other district convener of PPP (S) Abdul Wali Khan Advocate was also present on the occasion.
Nazim appeals for re-opening of Afghanistan road.
Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan have appeal to Provincial and federal government for re-opening of Kunar road via Afghanistan for transportation of essential goods to Chitral. He said while talking to this scribe on telephone from Peshawar that he also arranging for meeting with provincial Home Secretary and Chief Minister to appeal them personally for opening of Kunar Afghanistan road for Chitral. He said that due to continue curfew at Malakand Dargai vehicular transports are block as a result Chitral facing numerous problems. There is acute shortage of edible food items, medicine, fresh vegetable and other necessary commodities as a result life have been paralyzed in Chitral. He said that Chitral is a peaceful place and there is no militancy but its people badly suffering due to trouble in neighbor districts. And it is not possible to transportation essential edible goods to Chitral via the route where Curfew have been imposed.
