Noted film personality S.V.Sekar, AIADMK,MLA of Mylapore constituency, Chennai, came to secretariat yesterday. At the same time AIADMK party’s general council meeting was in session at an outskirt of Chennai, under the party supremo Ms.Jayalalitha.
On noticing his arrival, an AIADMK party cadre rushed towards him and almost pushed him towards the assembly entrance through his hand grips on him.It is learnt that the party member who forced him out of the assembly was a man from Chennai Saidapet, who urged S.V.Sekar to come and meet the ‘Amma’ (Jayalalitha) since she wanted to meet him.
A rumour was actually spreading that Mr.S.V.Sekar had come to the assembly to tender his resignation, because he has been continuously neglected by the party functionaries and he was not invited to the AIADMK general council meeting and he was not even informed or invited to any of the party rallies, demonstrations or party meets etc that took place in Mylapore, his own constituency.
When Sekar was forced to attend the general council meeting, the meeting was almost over. When Ms.Jayalalitha questioned him why he was late to the meeting,Mr.Sekar explained his plight and how he has been neglected by the party functionaries.
The reason behind the continuous neglect and the plight of S.V.Sekar is said to be ‘chinna Amma’Sasikala, a close friend of Ms.Jayalalitha.The party supremeo herself did not know what is happening to S.V.Sekar, her own party member. It is really pathetic. But when the marriage of S.V.Sekar’s daughter took place she did not attend. But a few days ago Ms.Jayalalitha attended the marriage of cine actor, Senthil’s son, who is only an ordinary member.Hence we can also say what is happening to Mr.Sekar is only with the blessings of the high command. That is politics !
Democratic parties are boasting themselves as democratic and saying everything is done democratically, but one cannot explain the dominance and influence of some powers who are not actually at the helm of affairs but weilding a tremendous influence over party affairs and torturing the peoples representatives according to their whims and fancies. We can only sympathise for S.V.Sekar but we cannot meddle in the internal politics of a democratic party!!
