Doda/ Jammu, June 23 (Scoop News)-Kandiwal Sethi’s 04 wickets and Kapil Bhati’s 54 runs guide the President Eleven Sunderbani to lifted the All India 9th Gufran Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship 2013 beating Friends Cricket Club Ghat by four wickets in the final match being played at Sports Stadium, Doda on Sunday
The tournament was organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and was sponsored by J&K Bank, Rashtriya Rifles 10 RR Unit Doda and Bajaj Allianz.
Earlier before the commencement of final match, students of New Era Public School, Little Angle School Doda and AIER Public School Doda presented welcome address by presenting band display and welcome the guests and spectators by National Anthem Song.
President Eleven Sunderbani won the toss and they elected to bowl first. While batting first, Friends Cricket Club Ghat set a target of 163 runs losing their six wickets in stipulated 20 overs game. Sandeep was the highest scorer from Friends Cricket Club Ghat who scored brilliant 62 runs followed by Aditiya Jain and Shahdab Wani who contributed 34 and 16 runs respectively. From President Eleven Sunderbani, Kandiwal Sethi was the most successful bowler who claimed four wickets while Ankit take one wicket.
In reply, President Eleven Sunderbani chased the given target and make the goal winning run in the last ball of the 20th over by losing their six wickets. Kapil Bhati was the highest scorer from President Eleven Sunderbani who scored 54 runs followed by Varun and Ankit who contributed 34 and 21 runs. From Friends Cricket Club Ghat, Amit Sehni and Ravinder shared one wicket each.
Kadwil Sethi of President Eleven Sunderbani was declared as Man of the Match for his best bowling performance.
District Development Commissioner (DDC Doda) Mubarak Singh was the Chief Guest while Commanding Officer (CO) 10RR Col Sunil Mishra was the Guest of Honor besides ADDC Doda Ghulam Nabi Balwan, Cluster Head JK Bank Zonal Office Doda Mohammad Amin, 2IC 10RR Tanay Kothiyal, District Immunization Officer Dr Tariq Masood, Ex CMO Doda Dr Mohammad Iqbal Zargar, Social Activist Mtr Nuzhat Iqbal Zargar, Manager Bajaj Allianz Saleem Ganai and President Doda Welfare Society Mohammad Iqbal Balwan were the special guests on the occasion.
Later on Chief Guest along with other dignitaries distributed prizes among the runner and winner up teams. On this occasion, final winning team was being awarded with trophy and cash prize of Rs 75,000 while Runner up team was being awarded with trophy and cash prize of Rs 40,000 by CO 10RR Col Sunil Mishra which was sponsored by 10RR followed by Rs 10,000 cash prize to the officiating umpires of the tournament besides Rs 10,000 was also given to Ankit Dabas of President Eleven Sunderbani for being awarded as Man of the Tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest DDC Doda lauded the efforts of YSCC Doda for organizing such national level cricket tournaments which would boost up the cricket morale among the youth of this region. DDC Doda asked the youth to participate in such events so that they can channelize their energies in a better way to exhibit their hidden talent.
The match was officiated by Subhash Mathur and Ifroz Rather while Shahid Pampori acted as Scorer.
