Dorje Gurung a Nepali teacher who was arrested and jailed, on May 1, 2013 on charges of insulting Islam by the government of Qatar has set him free.
His freedom was a result of the petition which was signed by more than 14,000 people from all over the world. The petition was addressed to His Excellency Mohamed Bin Abdulla Al-Rumaihi, Qatari Ambassador to USA for a fair judgment of Dorje and his character.
The lower Doha court had jailed Dorje on charges of insulting Islam of an argument with 12-year-old who accused him of speaking against Islam.
