Formed in 1966, Rashmi Group has been a huge name in the field of manufacturing cement and steel. With 40 years experience in the development of cement, steel and minerals, Rashmi Group has been constantly growing with its various power projects. At the same time Rashmi Group has been focusing on its numerous social activities as it has undertaken social responsibilities to improve the life of tribals in the nearby villages of Kharagpur and Jhargram.
Sky is the Limit:
Currently the Group comprises of two companies Rashmi Metaliks Limited and Rashmi Cement Limited. Rashmi Metaliks Limited is a 6 year old enterprise situated in West Bengal. It is predominantly engaged in manufacturing steel and in trading of coal, iron ore and other minerals. With several objectives and mottoes, Rashmi Metaliks has been providing optimum quality services to its customers. The company stands out for its high quality products and prompt services.
Rashmi Group’s CSR Activities:
Even after so many years Rashmi Group is a company par excellence which has been able to keep its unfazed principles, strong values, and work ethics intact. At the same time the company has been carefully performing on various social responsibilities. Underprivileged people of villages in Kharagpur and Jhargram have been deprived of basic amenities for many years as these areas have been infested with Maoist rebels. Now the Group has taken a major initiative to socially uplift these areas in sectors such as education, healthcare, forestry, ambulance support etc.
Rashmi Group supported by the High Court:
All these activities might have been faced lot of hurdles as business rivals have tried to make the path truly rocky for the Group. Unfortunately one of these rivalries now has come to the base level where Rashmi Group has been accused of freight evasion amounting to Rs. 132.00 crore. The repulsive accusation has been made by S.E Railways. Moreover a penalty amount of Rs. 528.00 crore was imposed by the railway authorities on the company, this resulted a demand notice against the company for an amount of Rs. 660.00 crore. But the company has been attacked by all these proceedings on the basis of no factual truth. Hence the company questioned the legality by filling a writ application at Kolkata High Court. After that the Hon’ble court passed an interim order which allows Rashmi Metaliks to continue their loading operations.
Thus with the support of the High Court and truth on its side, Rashmi Group is confident that it will come out of this embarrassment and continue with its progressive projects in near future.
