Please my brothers and sisters, close your eyes, and in your mind, and your heart, picture Jesus, your loving brother, hanging there on His cross.
As the Son of God, but in mortal form, remember, He is sinless, yet He chose to face the humiliation of being wrongfully publicly chastised, not just once but twice, being mocked and scourage, defiled, and crowned with a crown of thorns, and then led of by soldiers of Rome to be taunted in the streets and jeered by His own people the Jewish people until finally they reached the Calvary Mount where he was crucified.
Feel His excrutiating pain, as His hands and feet are being nailed to his cross. Imagine the pain as though it were you instead of Him, feeling those huge thick spikes being hammered, driven, mercilessly through the flesh of each hand feel it ripping through your flesh, and again through your feet. Just imagine the aching pain and suffering He had to endure.
Imagine the added insufferable pain and anguish in Jesus mind and heart, knowing that Almighty God, His Father and now Our Father, was turning His face, was turning His back, away from His only Begotten Son, because, He Father God hated sin. Jesus was now suffering being forsaken and rejection by God His Father, as the sins of all mankind, past, present, and future, from the time Adam and Eve ate of The fruit of the tree, until even now, and unto tomorrow after tomorrow.
He endured all of this at Our Father’s request. He endured all of this pain, and anguish, so that we simple, sinful, mortals, would not be eternally separated from God Our Father. Listen in your hearts, and you can hear Jesus as He prayed in the garden of Gethsemanie saying, "Oh My Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, Thy will be done. Our Brother Jesus remained obedient and faithful to The Father, and faithful to His cause, to ransom we undeserving humans.
Jesus last dying thought, was not for Himself, His pain or His suffering, His humiliation, rather it was for each and every one of us, as he spoke thes words to Our Father.
"Father forgive them, for they know not what they do."
In that one simple little prayer to His Father and Our Father Almighty God, Jesus claims the sins of all mankind as his own, thus redeeming us from eternal separation from Our Father, providing we claim our victory through His death and through His spilled blood.
We pray:
Please Lord Jesus, forgive us our selfishness, our thoughtfulness, our stubbornness, our pridefulness our envy, our covetousness, our greed, our lustful nature, wanting that which is not ours, that which we did not earn, that which we should not have nor deserve.
We ask you Jesus, Our Brother four your Mercy, and your merciful understanding and forgiveness and grace, for we are but weak, undeserving, sinful humans which constantly choose to sin, even though we know just how much it pains you. Precious Lord Jesus you are our redeemer, our saviour our brother and the grantor of our salvation through your love and your Divine Mercy.
Lord Jesus we offer to you our eternal gratitude, thank, praise, worship, and glorification, for you Our Lord through you death and resurrection paved the way towards our redemption. You conquered death and sin, to glorify Our Father and became The One Who’s Name rises above all others in the heavens. Through our belief and acceptance of you accompanied with our true repentance for our sins, we are cleansed, justified, and purified, and can now stand before God Our Father, and now he hears us. We thank you Jesus. AMEN!
