CHITRAL: Residents of Shah Miranda Singoor village in Chitral district have been facing numerous problems due to unavailability of clean drinking water for the last two months.
According to local dwellers and social and political notables, they have repeatedly lodged complaints with the local authorities but to no avail.
They informed that children and women are fetching drinking water from far flung locations to meet the requirements.
The locals said that two mega water supply schemes – Angar Gon and Golan Gol – worth millions of rupees have been approved for Chitral town and the surround villages but due to the inefficiency of the officials of the water and sanitation unit and Public Health Engineering Departments the projects could not be launched.
The residents of the area demanded of the local government representatives and chief Minister Khyber pakhtunkhwa to resolve their problem on priority basis otherwise they would be force to move court against the local administration.
