Jammu, February 20, (Scoop News)- Minister for Social Welfare, Ms Sakina Itoo today informed the House that an amount of Rs. 29.85 crore have been released under TSP and Article 275 (1) for upliftment of Scheduled Cast and Scheduled Tribe communities in the State during last and current fiscal.
Replying to a question by Ashwani Sharma, the Social Welfare Minister informed the House that under SCA to SCSP Rs. 7.30 crore have been released in Jammu division during last and current fiscals for development of SC and ST communities living in different districts.
The Social Welfare Minister informed that 886 income generating units have been set up in different constituencies of the state under direct financing and bank type schemes during last and current financial years.
The Minister said that an amount of Rs. 33.47 lakh have been utilized under SCA to SCP, SCA to TSP and Article 275 (1) for construction of different works besides setting up of income generating units including cutting and tailoring centers in Bishnah constituency during the said period.
In reply to the supplementaries raised by some members, the Minister said that adequate funds are being provided under normal plan for the upliftment of SC and ST communities in the State but no separate plan has yet been formulated. She however, said that the Social Welfare Department implementing SCA to TSP, Article-275 (1) , SCA to SCSP and bank Tie Up / direct Financing Schemes for upliftment of such communities in the state.
Ashok Kumar, Harshdev Singh, M. Y. Tarigami and Lal Chand raised the supplementaries and demanded all round development of SC ST communities.
