After 12 scary hours, 3 year-old Ryan Flake from Oswego Township, Illinois was found not far from the place where he was last seen.
Ryan Flake wandered away from his house and his parents’ supervision at around 8:30 p.m. on Monday evening. His family began searching and contacting neighbors before calling 9-1-1 about half an hour after he went missing. Divers searched a pond near his home fearing the worst but came up empty-handed.
Yorkville, Illinois resident Matt Woodin heard that Ryan Flake was missing and decided to search for him on his way to work. At 8:15 a.m. Tuesday morning, he saw Ryan walking near a retention pond looking "scared and confused."
Ryan Flake has been reunited with his very grateful family thanks to the volunteer heroism of Mr. Woodin.
