Kulgam/Srinagar, June 07 (Scoop News) –Minister for Social Welfare Ms. Sakina Itoo, today stressed upon the teaching community to imbibe quality education with moral values among the students and prepare them to face the challenges posed by the modern era in every field of life.
The Minister said this while addressing a public gathering after inaugurating additional block of High School building here this afternoon.
The two storyed additional school building comprised on 8 rooms has been constructed by JKPCC at an estimated cost of Rs. 17 lakhs. The existing middle school Guddora has been upgraded from Middle to high school under RAMSA scheme and dedicated to the people. The Minister said by upgrading the school from middle to high standard was the long pending demand of the people of the area which has been fulfilled by the government.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that it is responsibility of the teaching community to further improve the education standard which, she said, is not only imperative for brighter future of students but is necessary for building a strong nation.
Ms. Sakina said that government is expanding the reach of education especially higher and professional education across the state. “The onus of shaping the future of a nation lies on the youth and its primary concern of the present government to ensure every facility to enable them to face the future challenges.” She said.
The Minister urged upon the students to concentrate completely on their studies besides take part actively in extra co-curricular activities which is vital for their development.
Responding to the demands of the locals the Minister assured that basic amenities in Laisoo, Parniyal, Achthal, Guddar and Pahlu which falls already in backward category would be improved in phased manner for which she directed the district administration to submit comprehensive plan under NABARD, MGNREGA, RGGVY and other schemes so that funds are arranged accordingly.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Jehangir Ahmed Mir, Senior Officers of the District Administration, various engineers, prominent citizens, Sarpanches and Panches, Political workers and large number of people were present.
Earlier, a group of local artists presented cultural programmes, Miss Shehzada Akther and Dilbar Riyaz mesmerized the audience with their melodious voices.
