Srinagar, June 28(Scoop News)-Sponsored Schemes implementing by the Social Welfare Department.
The Minister expressed her views in a meeting with the central team of high level officers headed by the Member, Planning Commission, Dr. Sayeeda Hamid here today.
Threadbare discussions were held in the meeting on the various issues including ICDS, SABLA, IGMSY, ISS, Take Home Ration (THR) and NFBS being implemented in the State. The Minister briefed Dr. Sayeeda about the achievements and results of various schemes and programmes under implementation in the State with the central assistance.
Ms. Sakina apprised Dr. Sayeeda that the State government is facing tremendous problems in receiving the funds under central share on time due to which it becomes very difficult for the government to implement the schemes in letter and spirit on the ground level.
The Minister informed the team that under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), there are 28,000 Anganwari Centres (AWCs) are functioning in the State, of which only 325 centre have been housed in government accommodation.
Ms. Sakina apprized the team that the issues for releasing of funds under various schemes have several times been taken up with the Central Government but the response is very poor due to which the Anganwari Workers and Helpers are not getting their honorarium regularly.
On the occasion, Secretary Social Welfare Gazanfar Ali, Director Social Welfare, Kashmir Farooq Ahmad, besides senior officers of Central and State governments were present in the meeting.
