Jammu, October 9 (Scoop News) –Some  Jammu based organizations who are supporting APMCC Chairman’s indefinite hunger strike near Press Club Jammu appealed the masses of Jammu irrespective of their party affiliations to come out in open support of the Indefinite Hunger strike as the issues highlighted in 6-point charter of demands concerns all the Hindus of J&K as well as rest of the world.

Addressing a press conference in Jammu today Rajiv Mahajan, Core Committee member asked Jammuites irrespective of their caste creed, colour or political affiliations to support their cause reminding them that if they do not wake up from the slumber this time they will lose everything concerning their religious and cultural heritage in the state.

Mahajan said that the issues highlighted in the 6-point charter of demands of APMCC were not limited to a particular section of the society or community but whole of the Hindu community particularly Jammu as Jammu is called the city of temples which have been under the control of some unscrupulous elements who have turned temples and shrines into personal shops adding their agitation was not against any religion or section but to safeguard their own religious and cultural heritage which was being plundered by the land mafia as well as the government.

He asked Jammuites to physically join the struggle to make it a big movement to save temples, shrines and other cultural and religious heritage of Hindus which was in great danger under the clutches of land Mafia, government and the so called Trusts.

Warning the government of a long drawn agitation he said that government must get the Temples and Shrines Bill passed in the Assembly with amendments that this board should be for the whole of J&K covering all the temples and shrines from Lakhanpur to Aman Setu on the pattern of Auqaf and Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee.

He said that control from a particular trust must be wrested and given to the Temples and Shrines Board of J&K so that all the temples get a single body to manage the affairs.

Meanwhile the indefinite hunger strike of Chairman, All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) entered third day today.

Speaking on the occasion Kundan Kashmiri said that he came all the way from New Delhi to join Day long hunger strike as he was satisfied with the 6-point charter of demands of APMCC particularly passing of temple bill covering whole of J&K and permission to visit historic Shardaa Mata.
