“A woman was arrested on six counts of murder after authorities found the bodies of seven infants packed into separate cardboard boxes at a home in Utah,” according to a statement provided by the police.
Megan Huntsman, 39, of Pleasant Grove, was arrested by police on Saturday after the gruesome discovery at the residence which had formerly been occupied by her. She had moved out of the house in 2011.
A family member who is currently living in the Pleasant Grove residence called the police and when officers arrived at the home they found the first baby which “appeared to be a full term baby,” according to a police statement.
Capt. Michael Roberts of the Pleasant Grove Police Department told ABC News, “A family member was cleaning out the garage and came across a box looking suspicious; and when they opened the box it contained an infant inside.”
The authorities obtained a search warrant to continue to inspect the home and they found six more infant bodies inside. The bodies were each packaged in separate containers, according to a police statement.
Roberts stated that through their investigations, there were reasons to believe Huntsman gave birth to the six other babies during the period between 1996 and 2006 and that she had murdered them.
Huntsman was arrested by authorities and was booked into the Utah County Jail on six murder counts; and there was no comment on why she was not charged with seven counts.
Police stated the current adult residents who are living in the home have claimed to have no knowledge of the dead babies; and Roberts also stated he could not confirm whether Huntsman had any other children or if she was married.
Roberts said, “It’s an ongoing case, we’re still working on some information we’ve received.”
In my opinion this is an unbelievable case because how could a woman carry seven full term babies and “no-one” would not know that she was expecting a baby? Why did no-one ever question where the babies were?
I’m wondering if this residence is located in an isolated area or if the woman was not married and possibly had no family or friends living in the area? It’s my opinion there’s something strange about this story and it’s my opinion there’s more information that’ll be coming in the news pertaining to this case.
