Jammu, November 10 (Scoop News) – Dispelling any threat to the security of Sikh community following alleged harassment incident at Hutmurah in Anantnag district, Uplana in Baramulla and at Tral in Pulwama district, Deputy Chairman Legislative Council, S. Ainder Singh Micky has said that the community is living in perfect harmony with other communities in Kashmir Valley.
Addressing a press conference here today, Micky said that he personally visited the incident sites to get the first hand appraisal of the situation. During the meeting with the members of Sikh community, he said they have expressed satisfaction over their safety and added that such issues have been blown out of proportion. He said the community is feeling absolutely safe and have full faith in Muslim brothern and State administration.
Micky said that they have commended the role of majority community and the district administration in tackling the issues of such nature. They are living in the State for the past over two decades in complete harmony, he said and ruled out confrontation of any sort during turbulent times.
Micky also said that he had a meeting with Lt. Gen N.C. Marwah G.O.C 15Crops and apprised him about the incidents, who assured that investigation has already been initiated and report will be submitted within a week’s time and whosoever found involved will be brought to book.
Meanwhile Arvinder Singh Micky has said that the Sikh community in the state has always up-hold the age old tradition of mutual brotherhood and amity.
Micky was addressing a Sikh Sabha here today organised by Sanant Nagar, Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee. He said that the government is committed to protect all sections of the society and nobody will be allowed to disrupt the peace and tranquillity in the state.
The Sikh Community putforth various demands including unemployment, land for college etc.
Micky assured them that their genuine demands would be brought into the notice of Chief Minister for appropriate disposal.
