Srinagar, March 30 (Scoop News)- 6 bodies of two families have recovered and several others are missing after landslides hit their residential houses At Ladden Chadoora in Budgam.
The bodies have been identified as Naseema, Shugufta daughters of Ghulam Nabi, Rukhsana wife of Mohammad Shaban, Mohammad Shaban son of Lal Din Chopan, Mohammad Aslam son of Mohammad Shaban Chopan and Shamema daughter of Lal Din Chopan.
The rescue operations are going on, DIG CKR Ghulam Hassan Bhat is supervising the rescue operations.
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has expressed grief over burying alive of six persons in a house collapse at village Laden in Chadoora in Budgam district today, following incessant rains that have lashed Kashmir valley for the last few days.
In his message, the Chief Minister, while condoling the unfortunate deaths, sanctioned ex gratia relief in favour of the Next of Kin of those who died in the collapse. He directed the rescue team at the spot to make all out efforts to rescue the remaining trapped persons from under the debris.
The Chief Minister expressed sympathies with the bereaved families in their hour of distress and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
Meanwhile Minister for Agriculture, Gh. Nabi Lone Hanjoora expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic incident and expressed his sympathies with the villagers and only member who survived among the two victim families.
The Minister, at the site of mishap, instructed for expediting the search for survivors by clearance of the debris that has been started after the incident. Four Bulldozer machines have been pressed in service for clearance of the debris from the site and six bodies have been recovered so far, while search for the missing persons is going on.
